The Wonderful World of Words

I’m a word nerd. I love words, puns, crossword puzzles and word games. I grew up in a family of voracious readers. We always had hundreds of books in the house and when we’d read all of our own, we borrowed from each other. I think I was in sixth grade the first time I borrowed one of my mom’s books. There was no money for propane and not much food, so the five children, close in age to me and my brothers and sisters, were cold… Continue

One tradition that didn't survive past Krysten's childhood was our mobile Christmas party. Brett would dress as Santa Claus on Christmas Eve and we’d drive around to the homes of friends who had children our daughter’s age. First, Krysten and I would show up on the doorstep with a gift of homemade bread. We’d be invited in to visit for a few minutes and… Continue
