Okay so I'm a little late jumping on the "guest post" bandwagon. I've considered it but was still in the development stage of ideas for my blog. But now I am ready to learn more about what it takes to have a successful blog and I have come across the idea once again. But now I have a couple of questions that I hope someone can help with:

• What is the point of guest posts?
• Can guest posts be pretty much about anything or does it help to be relevant to the blog?
• How do you (personally) go about inquiring about guest posts? Is it better to ask a specific person or just ask the blogging community in general?

Sorry about all the questions. I want to learn what I can now instead of just prodding along in hopes that something works.
